About Me

I always find it quite daunting to write about myself. How do I talk about the things I love and my life without sounding like I am bragging? Because if I can be totally honest with you, my life is great and I love living it! Yes, there are times when I feel a little bit lost or lonely, but I know that those times will pass and I also know that it just adds to my growth. As the orange sun rises and sets, so shall I.

A massive inspiration to me is my lovely family. They taught me to dream big and to work hard. I am the youngest of six children and I would not wish for it to be any different. I guess you could say that I have a blended family – with different parents, adopted relatives, and uncles, cousins, and aunts popping up everywhere, yet the underlying theme of my family is love, honesty, and care. In a way having a blended family has taught me the importance of teamwork. We put in the effort to stay close and stick together and we all have each other’s backs no matter what.

I am definitely a bit of an outdoorsy chick! I love the sun and the sea more than I love indulging in chocolate! (This is a huge statement for me by the way, I froth for chocolate). I am especially lucky that my parents reside by the seaside in St. Francis Bay because I get to visit the ocean often. I will without a doubt swim every day regardless of the weather when I am there. It rejuvenates me and I am grateful for the endorphins that course through me when the water is cold.

I guess I would describe myself as an open-minded young adult who is growing through life and learning lessons along the way. I believe that the day starts with our orange sun, orange light and it ends with our orange sun setting, acknowledging the day’s progress because no matter what I have done, it is progress, there is no way to regress in life, it doesn’t exist. No matter what I am doing, I am moving forward, I am walking on the path of a life filled with mistakes, regret, and hurt, yet it also contains freedom, joy, elation, and love. Every curve is a learning experience that is helping me progress in my life. Maybe I will look back I will turn back, but the effect of one step back to go two steps forward is always going to be the underlying journey. I definitely make mistakes, but I try my utmost to learn from them and try again. I am not happy every single day, but I am progressing every day in this orange world!
